Our History

St Bede C of E Primary Multi Academy Trust has a strong educational history driven by the founders of the Trust, Mr Jack Hatch O.B.E and Mrs June Roberts. Both leaders have worked tirelessly side by side to create the Trust of today, encompassing educational excellence with community spirit as well as creating rich and varied opportunities for the children and staff within their care.
Mr Hatch is an innovative leader both locally and nationally within the education sector, using his entrepreneurial flair to create a private nursery and out of school club to further serve the needs of the local community. In 2015, Mr Hatch was awarded an O.B.E. for his services to education. Many headteachers and deputy heads within the region owe their success to the training they received at St Bede.
The Leadership team recognised that the formula for success worked and were keen to share this knowledge with other schools; in 2018, Tonge Moor Primary School joined the St Bede family in their Multi Academy Trust. When Mr Hatch and Mrs Roberts retired, they were succeeded by Mrs Sarah Bagshaw as C.E O and Mrs Sarah Rostron as C.O.O. Both of these new Strategic team members have worked closely with Mr Hatch and Mrs Roberts in a senior capacity for over 10 years, each sharing in the vision first created by them.

As a Church of England Trust, which contains a non-faith Academy and a Church of England Academy, all that we do is led by our strong faith. We are committed to providing a stimulating and motivating curriculum, designed around our Christian vision and values, to ensure that children are encouraged to be positive, resilient and independent in their learning.  We want to inspire a love of learning that will enable children to achieve their dream career in the future.

St Bede CE Primary Teaching School is a teaching school designated by the National College for Teaching and Leadership. They are here to support and enable Primary Schools and Early Years Settings to improve the quality of care and education their children receive.
The teaching school is part of the St Bede Trust which includes the Ofsted Outstanding St Bede Primary Academy, Tonge Moor Primary Academy, as well as several Outstanding Early Years settings within the North West. The organisation has well over 1,000 children in its care. It is our ambition that every child has access to outstanding care and education.
Our alliance with other teaching schools within the Greater Manchester Teaching School Partnership, ensures that together we provide high quality teacher training, as part of our School Centred Initial Teacher Training Program, as well as providing Continuous Professional Development to those already in the profession.
